Office Policies
Cancellation
Appointments must be cancelled no later than 24 hours before your appointment. Your appointment time is set aside just for you, so if you are unable to make it, our office must be notified in the time required so that we may contact someone else who can benefit from that time. Late cancellations and No-shows have a very real cost to your Massage Therapist. If the appointment is not rescheduled or cancelled 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged the full amount of the scheduled treatment. We understand there are situations that arise without warning such as family emergencies, accidents and so on, and we will use discretion in these instances. If you arrive late for your treatment, you will receive the remainder of your treatment time at full cost.
SGI & WCB Claims
If you have been approved for either a SGI or WCB claim we require all claim information prior to booking your first treatment. This information includes, but may not be limited to, your individual claim number, adjuster's name, Chiropractor or Physiotherapist's name, as well as your Personal Health Card number and area/date of injury. All of this information is required for us to get the proper approval to begin your claim for Massage Therapy. Generally, WCB will cover up to 5 - 30minute treatments and SGI will cover up to 10 - 30minute treatments.
Refusal of Treatment
Refusal of treatment may happen for a number of reasons and is up to each individual therapist. If at any time the RMT feels that the treatment is inappropriate or may cause harm, they have the right to refuse treatment.
If you are not feeling well and may be contagious, please reschedule your appointment. It is not beneficial to receive a massage treatment when you are not in good health and it puts your RMT and others in our office at risk.
Treatment may also be refused or ended abruptly if the behaviour of a client is considered to be inappropriate.
Treatment may also be refused if violation of our policies has become habitual, and is at the discretion of our RMT's.
Scent-Sensitive Environment
Some of our treatments involve the use of essential oils or natural herbs, if you are highly sensitive to scents please let us know at the time of booking so we can help accommodate you.
However, we ask that you please refrain from using highly scented products such as scented lotions, perfume or cologne before entering our office. Chemically produced scents may trigger health related conditions such as migraine headaches, or even some respiratory conditions.
Payment
Payment is accepted by cash, cheque, e-transfer, or debit/credit via square. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. For a new client paying by e-transfer, payment must be done at the beginning of your appointment. An NSF cheque will be charged a minimum fee of $10, but is at the discretion of the Massage Therapist.
Receipts
In order to maintain a high standard of professionalism, receipts may only be issued in the name of the individual receiving the massage treatment and dated the day the massage was received. Receipts will not be post or back dated. Receipts are given at the time of payment but duplicates may be issued if necessary. Receipts are not issued if a Gift Certificate was used for the massage treatment.
Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates that have been purchased do not have an expiry date. However, if an appointment is missed in which you had planned to redeem the gift certificate, it will be considered "used" and will not be able to be used for future treatments. Gift Certificates that have been donated have a 6 month expiry. Please indicate which Massage Therapist the gift certificate is with at the time you are booking the appointment as they are non-transferable between the RMTs.
